Why is the CONTRAST-NP study on Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps So Important?

Quality of life is a serious issue for people who have Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps. In fact, a recent survey found that the condition affects many parts of people’s lives, including their sleep. This can lead to fatigue (feeling tired), which can make it hard to focus and impact a person’s ability to work or socialize.

What others don’t realize, too, is just how painful facial pressure and headaches can be when nasal passages are swollen — and polyps (benign/non-cancerous growths) add to the pain and discomfort, making it even harder to breathe. These blocked or clogged passages can also result in sore throats (from postnasal drip) and sinus infections, which can turn serious.

This study is assessing an investigational medication to see if it can reduce symptoms like nasal congestion (stuffy nose). It works by blocking certain kinds of inflammation-causing cells. Reducing inflammation (or swelling) is key, because it can cause the formation of polyps as well as block nasal passages.

Rest assured that if you are eligible and enroll, you may still leave the study at any time, for any reason
—you are under no obligation. Act now to see if you may be eligible.
